Travel diary - Seychelles (part 2)
10:27 AMHi guys!
I'm back with my travel diary of the next day on Seychelles.
We had different plans for the third day but at the end we went to explore the South-East of Praslin. When we were eating breakfast just outside our room in the shadow of beautiful trees and flowers, the owner of the place we were staying in came around. He told us all about bout tours that we should go to (like to see the turtles and to go snorkeling). We already wanted to go to a trip like this and since the price he told us was very cheap, we reserved it for the next day. Then we asked about the beach we wanted to visit this day, Anse Georgette. He explained that we should make a reservation in advance (we already knew that, but we hoped there was a way around it 😉). The man offered he can do that for us, because he knows the head of security there. We were very glad, but the first available spot was in a few days, so we changed our plans around a bit. 😛
We took the bus to Jetty and from there we went by foot on a steep and curvy path to Anse St. Marie.
It was very beautiful, so we walked around for a while and took some pictures. But the sea wasn't ideal - there were plenty of seaweed. We read that it's quite common for the Eastern part of the island. Our next stop was Anse Consolation - we walked there (again first up the hill and then down). It was very peaceful and photogenic there but again full of seaweed. We made ourselves comfy in a shadow of some trees, eat some sandwiches and check some info in Lonely Planet.
We then walked across the beach to the other side. We had to walk in the sea for some time and since I'm not super tall, I was wet from the waist down.
But it was worth it, because the beach on that side was just perfect and empty. Plus it was super close to the bus station (that's a huge advantage, because the buses on Praslin - well they are not exactly on time, so it's nice to wait on the beach).
But then we saw a storm approaching and went on the bus station, because it had a roof. We waited there for like an hour or more before the bus came. Oh, and if I didn't mention that before, the buses are at least 30 years old and the ride up and down 30% hills in a bus like that was quite an adventure. xD
Our next stop was Anse Possesion. We first went to a market to buy some water - there was a bell we had to ring so that the guy came to open the door of the store for us.
We ended up buying more than just water and we decided to go on the beach and eat some cookies. Then we walked around the beach but didn't go in the water because it was very very hot and there was a lot of sewed.
We then walked back to Anse Volbert. On the way we admired all the tropical plants we don't have at home.
On "our" beach we took some take away local cusine and ate on the sand while watching the waves. Quite a relaxing end of the day. 😊
Hope you enjoyed this blog post, I'll be back with the next day in a week.
